Renaissance Dog

This is my dog, Bella. She plays such a large role in our life I think I will have to add her to my cartooning. She's an Italian Greyhound, a miniature dog that the Renaissance Italian artists were so enamored of, they painted this breed into a LOT of paintings. This is also my dog, Bella. She's the same breed as Santa's Little Helper on The Simpsons. In other words, built for cartooning! Just look at those classic cartoony features. I know that I have introduced her on this blog before but that was when slightly fewer than three people ever stopped by for a visit. Now that I'm up to ten, I thought fresh introductions were in order. Stay tuned for the first Bella 'toon.

She's very pretty. Now I've "met" two dogs called Bella, and I have a neice who goes by that name. Bella is the perfect name for all three.

re: composting - yes, it gets a little smelly when kept in a container on the counter, which is why the container was moved to the patio. Once you start turning the scraps & such under with the dried leaves & yard waste, it's not so bad. But! Beware. Eggshells tend to attract skunks -- Bella should not play with skunks.

OH Wendy, I just discovered your blog through Jason's Clarity of Night, and YOU HAVE AN IG!! We have two (had three and one was hit by a car ;). If you read my blog I will occasionally lament how incredibly expensive one of ours is (a rescue who has terrible teeth, has had two leg surgeries, extensive rehabilitation, and is hypothyroid; he may need another surgery soon). Anyhoo, i look forward to reading more of your blog!
