Girlie gets to go to Disney for her birthday tomorrow and this Mom is going to need a full eight hours sleep so that I don't grumpy when my heels get whammed by strollers.Wendy Boucherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18145665422296622616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17046142.post-1138510050348008802006-01-28T23:47:00.000-05:002006-01-28T23:47:00.000-05:00I don't know whether it would be the kiss of death...I don't know whether it would be the kiss of death or not. I do know this, I am really tired of this Puritanical hold that religion has on modern pop-culture, politics etc.

I actually had to forcefully tell an 89 year old woman that I didn't want to hear about Jesus. I work for the cable company and she was having trouble getting her Christian Channel in. No problem, then she asks if I ever watch it, I say I don't because I am an atheist. I can't even pretend to be a Christian to make a customer happy. She then goes on a rant that I will discover god one day and I will need him at some point etc.

I finally had to tell her that I was an atheist because I used to be a Christian, not because I need to be a Christian.

So, if I were running for office and anyone asked I would tell the truth and then dare anyone to make an issue of it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17046142.post-1138509322505861332006-01-28T23:35:00.000-05:002006-01-28T23:35:00.000-05:00I can always tell when someone from the Ranting Ri...I can always tell when someone from the Ranting Right Wing Howler visits my blog, even if they don't leave a comment, it is a lot like you could always tell when your dad had been in the bathroom before you if you know what I mean.

On topic- I actually have to start laughing at publicity stunts like that. Who do these people think they are? They don't own me, they don't control my thoughts. I am an atheist and proud of it, why should me, or any liberal in the Florida senate have to state some kind of loyalty oath to anything? Why does the pledge even matter? I was never in the Boy Scouts and I have my own morals and ethics that I developed without god or camping with older men away from my parents.

I'm sorry, I was under the impression that this was a free country.

-BenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
